The final 4 Pillars of postnatal wellness.
Here we delve into the next 4 pillars for postnatal wellness.
If you missed the initial 4 you can head to our other blogpost by clicking here.
Once again these are not in order of importance as we have arguably the most important pillar when it comes to health and fitness at the very end!
Today’s post will be looking at the remaining 4 pillars which we work with our personal training clients to improve on.
Today we cover Sleep, Accountability, Stress management and Nutrition.
Sleep
Accountability
[Insert sleep & mum joke here].
It is a tough subject to discuss, especially if you are early into your journey of motherhood.
A lot of people just accept rubbish sleep and that they just have to get on with it.
Which is true to a certain extent but there is still a lot you can do to improve the quality of your sleep, even if you are getting woken up every few hours.
We will go over how to set up to optimise your sleep, how nutrition can influence your sleep, your routine, how to improve the quality of your sleep and also how technology can help too.
One of the main reasons people fail with their goals, whether it’s professional or fitness related, is being held accountable to do what you said you would do.
We show you what challenges to take part in, how to find a community of like minded people to help keep pushing each other along.
We go over the importance of celebrating every single success you have, different ways to get check ins and an accountability partner.
Along with which technology can keep you on top of your tasks to keep you moving forward towards your goals.
Stress Management
Surely walking out of that hospital for the first time with a child is one of, if not the most, stressful moments in a mum’s life?
The pressure of having this small human to look out for, to feed and to keep alive. There is no book to help you for what you’re in for.
Add onto that the need to keep up with social expectations and keep a professional career 6 months later. It is easy to see why people are overloaded.
Stress takes it’s toll on your body and your mind. It is so important that you have coping mechanisms to reduce the impact it has on you.
Whether it is defaulting and comfort eating, turning to alcohol or just the mental build up, stress is no use to you.
This section will look at how to deal with it and how to reduce stress.
Why you need to keep on top of your social media, mini stress retreats at home and why journaling can play a big role in keeping your mentally fresh and focused.
Nutrition
We have saved the best until last! Nutrition is the most important aspect if you are looking at making changes to your body shape and with boosting your recovery after giving birth.
We ensure you get lots of healthy recipes, simple hacks to make eating well more manageable and how to meal plan.
We will go over seasonal produce too, so you can be sure you are eating the most fresh foods each month.
Other aspects like gut health will come into this and we will break down the macronutrients and what you need to look for with your own eating plan.
